The uniqueness of this piece rests in the process of making it. It's made from tufa casting, a process where a design is carved into volcanic stone (tufa), and molten silver is poured into the design. In most cases, once a tufa stone is used, it's not used again. Many times the casting renders the stone unusable for a second time. When I saw this cuff, I was not only delighted but intrigued. I had to give someone the opportunity to nab all 183 grams of it for their collection. It's what any serious curator of silver would do.
