This ring is a huge piece of Egyptian turquoise. It’s more turquoise than silver by 2:1. Why? Well, you probably already have a turquoise ring if you’re looking at this one. If this will be your first, I recommend you consider smaller rings that’ll work with many things first. This ring is not concerned with working with your wardrobe or even if you want to wear another ring with it. It’s there to dominate all jewelry in the room, and you may not be ready for that kind of statement.
Should you be afraid of it? Of course not. But I’m not kidding when I say it’s really big. I’ve seen bigger rings before, but they tend to be impractical. This is the border where impractical meets wearable. What do I mean? Well, some rings are meant to be tests of skill and such. Others are meant to be things you can wear every day. This one is meant to get questions from onlookers about your ring. That’s it.
It’s a Chimney Butte ring, who’s an artisan who owns a shop that employs native artists and designers. They make pieces that are “different”. And that’s what this ring is: different. It’s classic “old style” stuff, but the twist is a monstrous piece of Egyptian turquoise that will turn heads.
So who should get this? I’d say people who are confident that they love turquoise. Because it’s not just big, it’s a sickeningly gorgeous piece of turquoise that sits really high off the bezel. I absolutely love it and I think it’s gorgeous. I just want to let folks know that it’s bigger than you think. For those that are familiar with turquoise vs. silver by weight, it’s 32 grams (over an oz) of mostly turquoise. That’s a huge statement. So I’m not telling you not to get it. I just know it’s not for everyone. Hell, there’s only one, so it’s quite obvious it’s not for everyone 😂. But I just want to be sure that you grasp what’s happening here. This ring is just a display for a “she’s showing off” sized piece of Egyptian turquoise. If you want to be seen, and there are times this is useful, this is the ring. No one will miss it. It’s blue with shimmery flecks of pyrite, too? My goodness.
My birthday is on August 23rd. Make👏🏾 It👏🏾 Happen👏🏾.
